Pressure mounting on Hutchings

A section of the Walsall support called for manager Chris Hutchings to be sacked after his team were hammered 4-1 by bottom of the table Tranmere. It was the Saddlers' fifth home league defeat of the season and they are now just one place above the foot of the table and looked like a side lacking in confidence and heading for League Two. Asked after the match if he still had the support of the board, Hutchings said: "I would like to think so but I have not spoken to the chairman or anyone else yet. "I am a fan as well and I am disappointed but I can't legislate for mistakes on the pitch. We have got to do better. "We have good players here but it's not happening for us and at the moment we are not having much rub of the green. "We have been beaten 4-1 at home which is always disappointing but it was the manner in which we gave goals away that hurt. We have a lot of work to do."
