Olly happy with Walsall

Oliver Lancashire has spoken of his delight after joining Walsall. The centre-back, who was released by League One rivals Southampton where he had risen through the youth ranks, believes his time with the Saddlers will provide him with an ideal chance to develop his game further. The 21-year-old is now focusing on nailing down a regular spot in Chris Hutching's side ahead of the 2010/11 npower League One campaign. Lancashire told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased to be here. This is a good club with a nice set-up; my aim is to break into the team and show people what I am capable of. "I'd like to think that I am a composed defender who likes to play football the right way. The gaffer likes us to get the ball down and play and that suits me down to the ground. "Training has been enjoyable so far. Both the gaffer and Martin O'Connor have plenty of experience and I can only learn from that. I am in no doubt that this is the place where I can really develop my game."
