The 20-year-old rose through the ranks at Ewood Park and was a member of Rovers' reserve team during recent seasons. Yet having spent an unsuccessful trial spell with Derby towards the end of last season, he was then released by Blackburn earlier this summer. But Saddlers boss Chris Hutchings was keen to bring him to the Banks's Stadium, telling the club's official website: "Josh is a player that we have been monitoring for some time. "He is a young lad who wants to push on and test his ability at the next level. This is a chance for him to develop and go on to bigger and better things on the first-team stage. "He is a box-to-box type player who is capable of scoring goals from midfield and is an exciting addition to the squad."
