O'Connor hails Saddlers response

Alex Nicholls set up Mark Bradley's opener after 14 minutes before providing the second for Troy Deeney. Anthony Gerrard then headed in a third after 39 minutes as the Saddlers responded perfectly to their 5-0 hammering by Bristol Rovers on Saturday. "We've played with that bit of spirit, passion and drive which we didn't have on Saturday," O'Connor said. "We told the players to go and play in the Brighton half and show their ability and energy. We played good football, scored three good goals in the first half and looked comfortable. "We know what our qualities are and that it was a bad day at the office on Saturday, a blip, and it was important we bounced back no matter who we played." O'Connor was, however, concerned by the loss of Gerrard to a calf injury in the second half. The central defender could now be out of action for three or four weeks, which may mean the club could be forced to dip into the loan market.
