Oakes decides against Carlisle switch

Walsall midfielder Stefan Oakes has rejected the opportunity to move to Nationwide Division Three's rock-bottom side Carlisle United on loan.

The Cumbrians completed a loan deal for Saddlers teenage striker Matt Fryatt on Thursday, but Oakes has decided against a move to Brunton Park.

The 25-year-old has made just four substitute appearances for Walsall so far this season.

He moved to the Bescot Stadium in the summer after being released by Leicester City.
