Nicholls expects top performances
Nicholls is fortunate enough to be contracted to the Saddlers until next year but there are 13 other players whose futures at the Banks' Stadium will be up in the air this summer.
He told the Express and Star: "It gives everyone an incentive who's out of contract, they are in essence playing for their futures.
"They have to put meals on the tables for their families at home.
"It just adds to the millions of people who will be out of work anyway so you need to keep your contract or get a new one."
