Mullen challenge for Ishmel

Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen has challenged Ishmel Demontagnac to work on his consistency after his hat-trick in Saturday's 5-2 rout of Southend.

The 21-year-old forward started his first game since early last season against the Shrimpers and tore them to pieces after scoring a brilliant second-half hat-trick.

"Ishmel is a player capable of many, many things, but he has got to earn the right to be in the team on a regular basis," said Mullen.

"Once every 10 games is not good enough for me or this football club. Once every two games I don't have a problem with.

"Somebody has to whisper in his ear and say, 'Listen, you are a good player but you have to do it on a more regular basis'.

"He has all the machinery, pace and skill to be a top class player, but he has to do it more often."
