Free agent striker Stefan Moore is in talks to sign for Walsall in a bid to boost the Saddlers' chances of promotion this season.

The former Aston Villa forward, who was released from QPR in January, has played for Walsall reserves in an attempt to impress manager Richard Money.

Money said: "We like what we see and we're in some discussions, but nothing has been sorted yet.

"He's got great movement and a good understanding of how we want to play."

Moore started his professional career at Aston Villa with his younger brother Luke, as the pair led the Midlands club to FA Youth Cup success in 2002.

The 24-year-old made nine Premier League starts for the Villains before he was allowed to leave for QPR on a free transfer in 2005.

The Birmingham-born striker made 19 league starts for QPR, scoring three goals in the process.

However following his release, Walsall have given Moore the chance to resurrect his career.
