Walsall manager Richard Money has handed a trial to Geordie Lyall and the Canadian defender was included in the Saddlers' reserve team for Tuesday's clash against Bradford City's second string. The 30-year-old has spent the last seven years with Vancouver Whitecaps and was named the Supporters' Unsung Hero in 2005. He moved to the Whitecaps in 1999 after starring for the University of Victoria, and was a regular in the reserves before signing an A-League contract the following year. Lyall made 20 appearances for Vancouver this season as they finished fourth in the USL first division's regular season before winning the play-offs.
