Hutchings targets home win

Chris Hutchings wants Walsall fans to see that his side mean business when they meet Plymouth on Saturday. The Saddlers got their season up and running with a battling 2-1 win at Brentford last weekend, but just 121 Walsall fans made the trip to Griffin Park. Hutchings is now eying a repeat performance at the Banks's Stadium after opening defeats at home against MK Dons in the league and Tranmere in the Carling Cup. "I think that was Brentford's first home defeat in about 18 games which tells you how resilient a side has to be to go down there and win," Hutchings told the Birmingham Mail. "Not many teams will do that in League One this season. "But now we want to build on that win with a similar performance and result in front of our fans. The lads are desperate to show the supporters at The Banks's Stadium what they can do after the first two disappointing home games." Meanwhile, Walsall will be without Ryan McGivern and Will Grigg for the home game against Colchester on September 4 after the duo were called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad for the European Championship qualifiers with San Marino and Germany.
