Hutchings rues Byfield blunder

Walsall boss Chris Hutchings was left to rue a late miss by Darren Byfield in the 1-0 defeat by Colchester. Byfield should have cancelled out Andy Bond's header and secured a point when he rounded Us keeper Mark Cousins, but he fired over the crossbar. "It had 0-0 written all over it," said Hutchings. "Colchester began quite lively and we had to change our tactics to get back in the game. But it was still a bit of a stalemate or chess-type game. "Neither goalkeeper had many shots to deal with but we hit a post and Darren Byfield missed a one-on-one, which is disappointing. "Darren has gone round the keeper and put it over which was very disappointing because we expected to get something out of the game."
