Hutchings dismisses Deeney blow

Walsall manager Chris Hutchings denied that the departure of wantaway striker Troy Deeney to Watford had an effect on their display in the 2-1 loss to MK Dons. Dons boss Karl Robinson saw his managerial career get off to a flier as goals from Sam Baldock and Danny Woodards secured the points. Manny Smith had equalised for Walsall but they were second best and Hutchings was quizzed afterwards about the loss of Deeney. He said: "I don't think it had an effect on us - these things happen in football. You have to get on with it and deal with it. It's in the past now so we move on. "Hopefully we can get a couple of players in. With this scenario going on (Watford had four bids rejected before the fifth was accepted) for four weeks now, it's something we have been looking at. "We need another striker, an experienced player to come in and hopefully fulfill that role."
