Hutchings: One lapse has cost us

In the 63rd minute, Aaron Doran capitalised on defensive uncertainty and crossed for Sean Thornton to slide home. Thornton added a second goal nine minutes later following good work from Jonathan Tehoue and Scott McGleish on the right-hand side. Walsall never looked like finding a way back into the game and failed to muster an attempt on goal after the interval. "It was a disappointing afternoon, although I thought the first half was even. We had a few chances and there was not a lot in the game," said Hutchings. "Saying that, in the second half we did not create too much and the first goal we conceded was a very poor goal. A lack of concentration cost us there. One lapse of concentration cost us and the players have got to learn from that. "We didn't work their keeper hard enough which is disappointing. I didn't think the conditions helped much but it was the same for them. Sometimes we perform very well, sometimes we don't."
