Hughes handed Saddlers trial

Bryan Hughes is training with Walsall with a view to a possible move, manager Chris Hutchings has confirmed. The experienced midfielder enjoyed seven successful years at local neighbours Birmingham before completing a switch to Charlton in 2004 and then Hull three years later, before parting ways with the Tigers at the start of this year. And Hutchings, who is also hopeful of completing the loan signing of an unnamed Premier League player in time for Saturday`s trip to Rochdale, is now exploring the possibility of bringing Hughes back to the midlands. "We`re having a look at him for a couple of weeks," the Saddlers boss told the club`s official website. "It`s a two-way thing and we`ll see where it takes us. "He is a player of vast experience who is a very good footballer and likes to get forward. His knowledge will help the younger lads around him, so it`s a situation that we`re looking at closely."
