Halsall, 47, has developed a huge reputation for nurturing young talent during his 10-year stint in WS1 and been responsible for bringing players such as Matty Fryatt, Andy Bishop, Karl Hawley and Scott Dann through the ranks.[LNB]City were hoping to take Halsall to the Britannia Stadium but he has opted to remain with the League One outfit, much to the delight of everyone associated with the club.[LNB]Chief Executive Roy Whalley told Walsall's official website: "We are delighted that Mick sees his future here at Walsall football club. He has played, and will continue to play, an integral role in this club's fortunes.[LNB]"We have fought very hard to ensure Mick remains with us and we believe his decision to turn down an opportunity to work in the Premier League is a great reflection on the youth set-up we have here.[LNB]"We have an excellent record of producing homegrown talent and, with Mick Halsall as head of youth, our reputation is sure to go from strength to strength."[LNB][LNB]
