Deeney: Keep Ricketts on a leash

Ricketts was released by the Saddlers at the end of last season and has since joined Tranmere, making three substitute appearances this season. He and Deeney played together at the Banks's Stadium last season, with the experienced frontman something of a mentor for the Walsall youngster, who penned a new deal on Wednesday. But despite their friendship, Deeney knows all that goes out of the window for 90 minutes on Saturday. He told the club's official website: "When I play against him it will be a case of shake hands before the game but once you're on the pitch it's business time. "When he plays against Walsall he's got that bee in his bonnet. He wants to do well, he got a bit of stick when he was here for getting sent off a few times and when he came to us with Oldham he got a bit of stick. He scored past us then so it's a case of trying to keep him on a leash." Meanwhile, Clayton Ince could do nothing to prevent the USA finally ending Trinidad and Tobago's dreams of playing in the World Cup finals next summer as they recorded a 1-0 win in the Port of Spain on Wednesday.
