New signing David Davis is in line for his Walsall debut at Rochdale having been handed Premier League clearance. The midfielder penned an initial month-long loan from Wolves on Thursday and will go straight into contention as the Saddlers look to end a three-match losing streak. Striker Darren Byfield has recovered from an Achilles problem and will be available while Ryan McGivern and Will Grigg are also back in contention after their international commitments. However, manager Chris Hutchings continues to be without forward Steve Jones (ankle), who is in the last stage of his recovery, and the versatile Richard Taundry (knee) who will be missing for the next three weeks. Striker Alex Nicholls serves the final game of his three-match ban.
