Craddock makes educated decision

The highly-rated 18-year-old made two substitute appearances for the Saddlers first-team last season and three in total having signed professional forms in May 2008. Craddock was again part of Chris Hutchings' plans this season and was due to wear number 24 but, after a lot of thought, he has opted to further his education at university. Walsall have, however, retained his registration. Hutchings told the club's official website: "Josh came to see me a month or so ago to explain that he didn't know whether a career in professional football was for him. We have had a number of conversations since and have spoken to Josh's parents at great length. "He explained to me that he wanted to go to university full-time but I didn't want him to make a hasty decision. I said that I would give him all the time that he needed to come to a decision and he has now informed me that this is what he wants to do. "We didn't want to lose Josh but, at the same time, we have to respect his decision. We wish him all the very best for the future."
