Boss wants more after last-gasp draw

Walsall manager Dean Smith is looking for more from his players despite his side grabbing a much-needed away point with a late equaliser at Notts County. The game ended 1-1 as Alex Nicholls' 88th-minute strike cancelled out Lee Hughes' opener, and now means the Saddlers have taken seven points from their last seven games. However, they have won just one of those and remain rooted to the foot of the League One table. "There are 18 games to go and we need to start winning some of them," said Smith. "We've got to string a run of results together." He added: "I felt we had the best chances but we didn't take them. "One big ball down the pitch beats our central defenders and then we concede from a set-piece. We know Lee Hughes is a decent player and maybe he was a bit cute for us at times." Goalkeeper Jimmy Walker, booked for time-wasting, was at the centre of a stream of abuse from the Meadow Lane faithful, and Smith said: "Walks gives us security back there, he's a great shot-stopper and a great presence."
