Vokes drafted into Wales squad

Wales boss Gary Speed called striker Sam Vokes into his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifying match against England.

Vokes, who is currently on loan to Sheffield United from Wolves, came in after Speed lost Nottingham Forest frontman Rob Earnshaw to a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old addition to the Welsh squad does not possess the same experience as Earnshaw, who has passed 50 caps for his country, but he has shown decent form for Speed's former club in recent matches, to the extent the Blades are keen to extend his loan spell at Bramall Lane.

Speed has various attacking options for the clash with Fabio Capello's side, which takes place at the Millennium Stadium next Saturday.

Craig Bellamy features in his squad, along with Vokes' Sheffield United team-mate Ched Evans, Coventry's Freddy Eastwood, Millwall's Steve Morison and Reading's Hal Robson-Kanu.

The Football Association of Wales announced that Aston Villa defender James Collins will join the squad on Monday afternoon, after a fitness test at his club.

Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley will also arrive on Monday, having played and scored in his team's defeat to Rangers in the Co-operative Insurance Cup final.
