Tottenham Hotspur full-back Gareth Bale is determined to make a greater impression in the coming season after his debut campaign was ended prematurely by injury.
The teenage Wales full-back joined the north London club in a £10million deal from Southampton last summer and began his debut season in the top-flight in impressive fashion.
However, he made just 11 appearances in all competitions before damaging ankle ligaments and missing the last six months of the season.
"My season was cut short but I enjoyed every minute of it while it lasted. Now I just can't wait to get back on the pitch," he told the club's official website.
"It's been a new experience for me and Spurs is a great club. I've enjoyed my time so far and hopefully it will continue.
"It's a boost to know you can play at the top level, but now I want to get down and start performing consistently in the Premier League and keep proving what I have to offer.
"If you can keep progressing then you're going to become a better player.
"That's my aim and hopefully I can get to the highest possible level."
