Upbeat Pires sets target

Robert Pires believes Villarreal must win all three of their remaining La Liga games to secure Champions League football for next season.

The Yellow Submarine find themselves three points adrift of fourth-placed Valencia in the race for the final qualifying spot.

However, Villarreal's task is made more difficult by the fact that their next game is against Real Madrid on Saturday.

"It is going to be difficult but I am sure that we can do it," said Pires.

"There are only three games left and we need three wins to be in the Champions League next year.

"We know it will be hard but against Barcelona (last weekend's 3-3 draw) we showed we had the quality and that is a game we should use as a reference in this final stage of the season."
