Rossi's Russia link dismissed

Giuseppe Rossi's agent has dismissed growing speculation that the Villarreal striker is set to join Russian champions Rubin Kazan.

The Italy striker continues to be linked with a move away from El Madrigal following the cash-strapped Spanish club's disappointing start to the La Liga season.

However, agent Andrea Pastorello has denied reports linking Rossi with a move to Champions League surprise package Rubin.

"A move to Russia does not seem a good choice at this point in his career," he said before making reference to Rossi's hopes of being included in Italy's World Cup squad.

"Back in Italy? Maybe if there was an opportunity and the same applies to other situations in Spain.

"But I think Rossi will stay at Villarreal in January. Players of this type usually move in the summer market."
