Lopez not leaving Villarreal

Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez has dismissed reports that he is in line for a move to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old former Real Madrid keeper has made the number one jersey his own at El Madrigal this season and has been linked with a move to the current La Liga leaders.

"It is nice that teams such as Barcelona notice me, but I am already at a large club and I want to continue improving here and doing things well for Villarreal for a long time," he said.

"Last year things were mentioned and there was already a contract renewal. I am very happy here and I clarified that before."

Lopez replaced Sebastien Viera as Villarreal's number one towards the end of the last campaign in his second season with the Yellow Submarine.
