Valencia deny Emery talks

Valencia have categorically denied reports suggesting that coach Unai Emery has opened talks with players about moving to the Mestalla for next season.

Emery was reported in the Spanish media as having met with Espanyol defender Sergio Sanchez to discuss a possible deal, but Valencia insist such stories are without foundation.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Valencia CF want to categorically denounce reports that have appeared in the media about supposed meetings between the coach Unai Emery and footballers that are not part of this club.

"Emery wants to underline that it is totally false that he has met or talked to any footballer from any other club.

"The whole club and everyone that makes up the first team are focused on the present and we don't want to detract attention from our priority, which is the game against Real Madrid."
