Valencia confirm bids for Silva

Valencia president Manuel Llorente has confirmed that the Spanish club have received several offers for Spain midfielder David Silva.

The 24-year-old, currently with the national team squad at the World Cup finals, is a reported target for a number of teams in England, as well as both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Llorente told Sky Sports: "Yes, some clubs have asked about David Silva.

"This is normal because he is one of our key players and a Spain international. However, this subject is closed until the end of the World Cup.

"If we do receive a formal offer we will study it and decide what is best for the football club."

Silva himself had recently told Superdeporte: "My future right now is with the international team and I do not think beyond that.

"I am devoting myself to training ahead of the World Cup - that is the most important thing, nothing else.

"I have heard about the interest from the Premier League, but any questions will be answered by my agent and the club."
