Silva recovery right on track

Valencia's Spain international midfielder David Silva is making good progress as he continues his recovery from an ankle operation.

The 22-year-old has been sidelined since the end of August, with his recovery predicted to take around three months.

However, Silva has started light training at the Mestalla and will step up his efforts if things continue to go to plan.

Los Che's head medic, Antonio Giner, told the club's official website: "The recovery of the player remains favourable.

"He has carried out specific work for his ankle in the gymnasium and later did some light running.

"It is envisaged that this week we will work on the technical side of his recovery and then, next week, hopefully he will be able to train as normal."
