Valencia's technical secretary Juan Sanchez has hit out at former Mestalla coach Ronald Koeman for banishing three senior players from the club's first-team squad.
Dutchman Koeman axed David Albelda, Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angel Angulo earlier this season, but the trio are now back in the fold to try and help Los Che avoid the threat of relegation.
Sanchez has sympathy for all three men, especially Albelda, as he told AS: "I was very surprised about what happened with those three in December, because they are magnificent professionals.
"In Albelda's case, I was really surprised. Such an important man, one of our own and with everything he went through to get to this level and after everything he has achieved.
"He deserves to leave this club in the most dignified way possible. If now he tries to help the team, as he is doing, we should be eternally grateful to him for it."
