Mathieu set for new Mestalla deal

Reports suggest former Toulouse defender Jeremy Mathieu will be offered a two-year extension to his current Valencia contract.
The 26-year-old was Unai Emery's first signing for Los Che when he penned a three-year deal last summer but his performances this term have persuaded the club to put a longer contract on the table.
Super Deporte reports that Mathieu has been offered the chance to remain at the Mestalla until the end of the 2013-14 campaign.
He has featured in 21 matches for Emery's side but his season was ended last month when he suffered ligament damage in the Europa League defeat at Bruges.
