Mata keen to stay at Valencia

Valencia star Juan Manuel Mata has handed the club a boost by declaring he will not be departing this summer.

The Mestalla-based outfit have already lost David Villa to Barcelona and David Silva to Manchester City in big-money deals and both outfits are thought to be interested in Mata's services ahead of the new domestic campaign.

But he has said he is happy to fight for he cause, while Los Che president Manuel Llorente has insisted he will not be leaving any time soon.

"I have decided not to leave Valencia this summer. This season the club needs my help," Mata said.

"Valencia are working on some very good reinforcements and we could do well in the Champions League."

Llorente added: "Mata is not for sale at any price."
