Ledley off in Valencia defeat

Published: 02 Aug 2009 - 10:12:00

Cardiff`s worries in front of goal continued as they were beaten 2-0 by Spanish giants Valencia. The Bluebirds failed to score for the third game running in pre-season, with Ross McCormack missing a second-half penalty at the Cardiff City Stadium. And Cardiff`s misery was complete when influential midfielder Joe Ledley hobbled off in stoppage time. Nikola Zigic and Joaquin netted for the visitors, while the Bluebirds gave former Stoke striker Vincent Pericard the chance to impress as a second-half substitute after a week training with the club.
