Newly-installed Valencia coach Unai Emery has vowed to try and get the club back on track after a traumatic campaign for Los Che.
The 36-year-old has signed a two-year contract at the Mestalla, having made his name with Almeria.
He told reporters after his appointment: "I am going to fight for unity, with the board, coaches, team, fans and media.
"Valencia have taken two steps back this season, but we want to recover and take a step forward, if possible.
"I have not been a coach for long, but I have always tried to learn a lot and worked hard.
"I promise that I am going to dedicate time, sweat and I hope that we cry tears of joy for the objectives we complete.
"I am sure we are going to be a competitive team, because the essence of Valencia will remain even if one, two, three or four players go."
