Emery bullish over future

Coach Unai Emery has dismissed suggestions that Valencia's disappointing final La Liga placing will lead to his departure from the Mestalla.

Los Che brought the curtain down on their season with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, but still finished sixth in the table and missed out on Champions League qualification.

"The club never required me to finish in the top four but it is still a disappointment," admitted Emery.

"The fans supported us during the game but they were disappointed that we did not make the Champions League.

"But being in the Europa League is also an achievement that we must value.

"The day that I leave, I will do so with my head held high. But I will not stop working for the club if they don't want me to."
