Luis Suarez scored his first goals since returning to action following his biting ban with a brace in Uruguay's 3-0 friendly win over Oman in Al-Buraimi on Monday.

The Barcelona striker, issued with a four-month suspension for sinking his teeth into Italy defender Giorgio Chellini at the World Cup, slotted home the opener in the 57th minute and added a second with a deft chip 10 minutes later. He was taken off 13 minutes from time, before Jonathan Rodriguez completed the scoring.

The goals took Suarez's tally for Uruguay to 42 in 79 appearances.

After the game, he posted (in Spanish) on Twitter: "Very happy with the game and to add important minutes... Congratulations @jona2118 on your first goal for the national team. Go Uruguay!"

Suarez was allowed to feature after the Court of Arbitration for Sport decided, on appeal, that his ban would apply to "official matches only". He a lso featured for 70 minutes of Friday's 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia, his volley creating his side's goal.

The 27-year-old is available to make his Barca debut against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on October 25.
