The Ukrainian football federation (FFU) is to appeal a FIFA order that the national team play their next World Cup qualifier behind closed doors, the FFU deputy chief said Monday.
FIFA's disciplinary committee took the decision last week after fans were accused of making monkey chants and performing Nazi salutes.
FIFA also banned the Lviv stadium from hosting all qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup after the incidents in the match against San Marino on September 6.
The FFU was also fined 45,000 Swiss francs (36,737 euros).
"We have asked FIFA to send us the declaration part of its disciplinary panel's verdict to complete our appeal on their decision," FFU deputy Sergei Storozhenko said.
"FFU chief Anatoly Konkov will then present our appeal to FIFA.
"We have sent to FIFA our explanations considering the situation at the match with San Marino but they were ignored completely."
Ukraine take on Poland in their next World Cup home qualifier on October 11 at Kharkiv.
Ukraine and Montenegro are a point behind leaders England in qualifying Group H for next year's World Cup finals in Brazil.
