Zapata welcomes Real link

Udinese's Colombian defender Cristian Zapata is flattered by speculation linking him with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old has been with the Italian club for four seasons but is rumoured to be on the wanted list of the Bernabeu outfit.

Zapata's agent, Massimo Italiani, told Tuttomercatoweb: "Real are an important club and one of the strongest in the world.

"It is only natural that Cristian would be flattered to be linked with such a team, but I can assure you that there are no negotiations yet.

"I don't think that he would worry about moving to another country as he has already come to Italy from Colombia.

"However, at the moment it is nothing more than rumours and we will have to see whether something concrete develops."
