Udine hit out over D'Agostino
03 Jul 2009 - 09:33:30
Udinese have pointed the finger firmly at Juventus following the collapse of midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino's proposed move to the Turin club.
The 27-year-old was being lined up for a switch to Juve in a deal worth in the region of 20million euros, but the deal now looks to have fallen through.
"Their offer did not even arrive to 10million euros," explained Udinese sporting director Sergio Gasparin.
"We never asked for a Euro to the Bianconeri, but instead we asked for players to exchange.
"We asked for (Paolo) De Ceglie, (Sebastian) Giovinco, (Michele) Paolucci and (Claudio) Marchisio, all for a co-ownership deal for a total of D'Agostino's value. All three of these would have remained in Turin.
"After Juve's refusal, it's clear that the negotiation went on the economic terms and Udinese wanted at least 17million euros.
"When you sell D'Agostino, you lose a unique player in Italy and therefore irreplaceable."
