Turkey name Avci as Hiddinks replacement

The Turkish Football Federation named Abdullah Avci as the replacement for former national team coach Guus Hiddink, the federation said on its website Thursday.
Hiddink's contract was terminated on Wednesday by mutual agreement with the federation. The Dutchman left the team after his side fell to Croatia in the Euro 2012 qualifying play-offs.
Avci, the coach of Turkish first division club Buyuksehir Belediyesi Spor, has signed a three-year contract according to the Anatolia news agency.
