Timo eyes Germany return

Goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand is hoping to regain a place in the Germany national team set-up by impressing at new club Hoffenheim.

The 29-year-old has headed back to the Bundesliga after a disastrous stint in Spain with Valencia, with his long-term aim to get back in the reckoning for Germany.

He told Kicker: "I was not so visible in Spain as I used to be in the Bundesliga.

"Now I am back here and I can prove myself each week and then we will discover if I can be Germany goalkeeper again.

"The World Cup is only in the back of my mind at the moment. My aim is to be successful with Hoffenheim, everything else will sort itself out."

Hildebrand moved to Valencia in the summer of 2007 after a lengthy spell with VfB Stuttgart, but made just 27 appearances for Los Che and has not played at all this season.
