Taylor sent out on loan

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore has allowed highly-rated teenager Ash Taylor to join Colwyn Bay on loan.

The 18-year-old will spend the next month with the UniBond First Division North side and Moore thinks it will do the youngster good.

He said: "Ash is a young lad who has just signed his first professional contract with us and this will be a good experience for him.

"There are some decent players at Colwyn Bay and they play a good standard of football.

"Sending out young players to non-League clubs does work. Just look at how Ryan Shotton benefited from his season in the Conference with Altrincham before he came to us on loan from Stoke.

"It is growing-up time for them and they can learn more than by staying put and playing in the youth team and the reserves. I'll go down there and have a look at how Ash is going on if I get the chance."
