Silkmen claim victory over Rovers

The Silkmen were dominant in the early exchanges, with Ben Wright and John Rooney hitting the woodwork either side of Hamza Bencherif's 12th-minute headed opener from Carl Tremarco's corner. Rovers came into the game after half-time and midfielder Max Power should have levelled matters, blazing over with the goal at his mercy after Craig Curran's shot had come back off a post.
