Shuker told to look up

Tranmere Rovers winger Chris Shuker has been warned to improve his decision-making and stop wasting opportunities to set up his team-mates.

The 24-year-old, who joined Rovers in the summer from Barnsley, is seen as a major talent by Rovers boss Ronnie Moore, but he wants to see Shuker become more of a team player.

He told the Daily Post: "Chris is so talented I would pay my own money to watch him play. He goes past defenders for fun.

"However, he has got to learn that when he does the hard part, which is to go past defenders and get into good areas, it should be easy to pick out a pass for someone else to put the ball into the net.

"That is what he is finding difficult at the moment. He needs to get the blinkers off.

"I think Chris wants to score himself and is shooting when there are people waiting for a pass who are better placed."
