Tranmere Rovers winger Chris Shuker believes he is still a long way short of his best following his return from a lengthy injury lay-off.
Shuker missed a third of last season through injury and has admitted to still being "rusty".
"I'm nowhere near my best at the moment but I'll get there," he told the club's official website.
"In my first game back last season I didn't go near anyone because I was wary of the injury. I think I got tackled once.
"I'm feeling a bit better now as I've got a few bruises and scratches. I used to get fouled for fun. I don't feel I get fouled enough these days as I'm not causing enough problems for the opposition.
"The more I start getting fouled the better I'll be playing. I'll definitely get back to my best."
