Savage missing for Glovers clash

Published: 25 Jan 2010 - 18:23:18

Savage is due to play his first comeback game this week in a friendly against Shrewsbury following a 10-month lay-off with a ruptured Achilles tendon. However, he remains some way off a return to first-team action and Parry is scouring the market for reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Parry parted company at the weekend with striker Michael Ricketts after the 31-year-old's contract was cancelled by mutual consent. The Rovers manager has no major concerns but will make a late check on the fitness of defender Ian Goodison. The Jamaica international is nursing a slight ankle complaint but Parry expects to have him available.
