Rovers unchanged for Dons visit

Published: 17 Aug 2009 - 10:57:29

Rovers beat Grimsby 4-0 in the first round of the Carling Cup last week and then overcame Gillingham 4-2 at home on Saturday in League One action. Barnes made just one change to his side in Saturday's win against the Gills as on-loan Blackburn defender Gavin Gunning returned to the side at the expense of Marlon Broomes. Striker Bas Savage is not expected to play until the New Year because of a ruptured Achilles tendon injury which he sustained towards the end of last season. Michael Ricketts has joined the club on a free transfer and signed a one-year contract at Prenton Park on Friday. He was not involved in the action against Gillingham and may miss out again as the 30-year-old is short of fitness after missing out on pre-season training as he searched for a new club this summer.
