Rovers set to slash ticket prices

Published: 25 Mar 2009 - 14:55:47

Admission to the League One encounter with the Pirates on Sunday, April 5 has been reduced to just £5 in all three stands used by home supporters. Clubs officials hope the special offer will pull in extra fans to generate a positive atmosphere for a game switched to Sunday to avoid a clash with the running of the Grand National at Aintree the previous day. Chairman Lorraine Rogers told the Liverpool Daily Post: "This is a huge match for the club. It's an opportunity for football fans to come and support their local team on a Sunday afternoon and we want the public to come and back us. "Our £5 admission price is a way of making the game as accessible as possible for all. "This is a really tough economic time for the club but we want to attract as many supporters for what could be a vital game as aim for the top six. Our fans have been excellent this season, and it would be wonderful to see a packed-out ground for this important match."
