Rovers loan out Jones

Tranmere Rovers have allowed teenage midfielder Mike Jones to join League Two Shrewsbury Town on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old has made just two first-team appearances to date and will be looking to gain valuable experience during his time at Gay Meadow.

Meanwhile, Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has bemoaned his side's poor finishing in the 1-1 weekend draw with Northampton Town.

He said: "There wasn't a lot wrong with our performance, but unfortunately we conceded a sloppy goal and we didn't take our chances when they came along.

"I felt, to be honest, we murdered them but we weren't ruthless or hungry enough."
