Rovers buoyed by returns

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore has revealed his squad is looking strong as the season moves towards a finale.

Promotion-chasing Rovers will take on Port Vale on Thursday with several injured players either back in the fold or close to first-team returns.

"Everybody wants to play. We've been fortunate we've not picked up any injuries that will give us too many problems," Moore told the club's official website.

"Ian Goodison missed the game against Hartlepool and maybe this one on Thursday will come too early for him. Maybe the Bournemouth game will be okay for him.

"Chris Shuker is alright. He needed a game and it will only be games now that will give him sharpness.

"We got 70 minutes out of him the other day so maybe we'll get 75 out of him against Port Vale.

"The bench all of a sudden looks a lot stronger with people coming back. They're just getting fit at the right time."
