Rovers boss asks for Moore

Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore is still backing his side to seal a play-off place despite a 2-0 home reverse at the hands of Swansea City at the weekend.

Rovers are level on points with sixth-placed Blackpool after their defeat, but Moore is ready for a tense finale to the campaign.

He told the Daily Post: "There is enough experience in the squad to handle the situation. What we need now is the desire from every player to go out and do it.

"We have to make sure we stay in the picture and be careful we don't allow the season to fall away.

"We did not perform well last Saturday, but we can kick on and show everyone we are a decent side over the nine remaining games.

"It is going to be a nervous time for supporters and players at a number of clubs and the ones who hold their nerve will be successful."
