Rovers devastated after Hatters loss

Published: 13 Oct 2009 - 11:01:02

Parry took charge of Rovers following John Barnes' sacking last week but could not prevent them going down to a second-half Carl Baker penalty after goalkeeper Luke Daniels had been dismissed for bringing down James Vincent. "Our main priority was to try to keep a clean sheet and I certainly would have been quite happy had we ended up drawing 0-0," said Parry. "One long ball down the middle caught us out and I was disappointed we gave the referee the opportunity to give the penalty. We never really got going in the second half until we went down to 10 men. How we did not go on to nick a point I just don't know. We certainly created some good opportunities. "I made some changes because we wanted some legs and some hard work from the younger players. The lads are devastated to have lost. They felt they did enough to have earned at least a draw. "I don't know whether I enjoyed it or not but if I remain in charge for a bit longer I hope we can produce better results."
